This annual event, produced by the Film Society of Lincoln Center, showcases new films and documentaries from all over the world (many of which usually go on ti win Oscars). One of CCNY's own professors, Chantal Akerman, will be showing her film Chantal Akerman on October 8 at 6 PM, so it's a must see event.
Do you like Andy Warhol, art, or pop culture in general? Then check oout Regarding Warhol: Sixty Artists, Fifty Years at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This colorful, comprehensive exhibit showcases Warhol's paintings, sculpture, and films alongside those by other artists who reinterpret, respond, or react to his groundbreaking work. Andy Warhol has inspired countless artists, so take a trip to the Met and see if this free exhibit inspires you.
If you're willing to brave this weekend's rainy weather, then you should head to New York's 20th Chile Pepper Fiesta. Enjoy an enormous collection of music, dance, and spicy foods from around the world this Saturday at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.
