City Never Sleeps by Alex AlemanHope everyone's been having a great week! Those two days off for Rosh Hashanah were much needed. And guess what? We have two more days off next week! CCNY will be closed on Tuesday, September 25 and Wednesday, September 26 for Yom Kippur. We have class on Monday, though, so let's have some fun this weekend. If you're looking for a fun, family-friendly outing this weekend, visit the 30th annual Queens County Fair. This traditional fair includes blue ribbon livestock competitions, arts and crafts activities, and a giant corn maze. This fair will have something everyone will like, and admission is only $5! Go down to the Queens County Farm Museum on Saturday or Sunday from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM for all the festivities.
If you want to see a more modern food festival, you should go to the Omnivore World Tour. This Brooklyn festival will offer guests cooking classes, mouth watering dinners, and a weekend-long party. If you're interested, take a trip to the Dekalb Market in Brooklyn today, tomorrow, or Sunday.
If you're feeling artsy this weekend, you should check out the 12th annual Coney Island Film Festival. Watch new, independent films all weekend at the Coney Island Museum and down by the shore tonight starting at 7:30 PM and all weekend long.
We don't have many days off left before Thanksgiving, so have fun while you still can! These fun, weekend excursions are just what we need to stay stress-free and get through this busy semester. Have fun!
