For the first time since 1973, the New York Knicks are your 2025-2026 NBA champions.
A statement many Knicks fans never thought they would hear became a reality when the New York Knicks secured their historic 94-90 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on June 13.

After more than five decades, one can only imagine the atmosphere in a city that hasn’t lost hope in its franchise.
From longtime fans who witnessed the team’s last title in 1973 to millennials and Gen Z fans experiencing their first championship run, a roar of excitement and nervousness filled the streets of Midtown and echoed across the five boroughs as New Yorkers hoped to end a 53-year championship drought.

But the party didn’t stop there. Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced on social media that the New York Knicks championship parade was set for June 18, ahead of Juneteenth and the pride parade celebration. The parade came at a time when major cultural events and the World Cup are bringing excitement to NYC.
The parade started at 10 a.m., beginning inside Battery Park, continuing north up Broadway through the Financial District and ending at City Hall, where Mamdani will give the team the keys to the City.

The city came alive on Saturday night and was more united than ever. Confetti rained down the streets of Manhattan as stars such as MVP Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Josh Hart, and other Knicks champs roamed the streets inside their floats.
It was not only a fan affair, but a family affair too. Stars came out with their families, agents, NYC Public Schools champion winners, and more, bringing the community together.
For 53 years, New Yorkers have waited for this moment. Through numerous draft picks, trades, playoff exits, and constant slander about the franchise, Knicks fans remained loyal. Fans believed that one day this team would bring a championship back home, and on June 13th, their dreams came true.
