The Weekender! 9-7-2012

Fun, free stuff to do over the weekend. By Alex AlemanBetween the MTV Video Music Awards, Fashion's Night Out, and the Democratic National Convention, everyone in New York was busy last night. With this exciting, hectic, and emotional week at its end, what's left to do this weekend? Plenty!

Free Fashion: If you haven't had your fill of fashion for the week--or can't get into any of the shows--check out The Museum at FIT. The museum's ever expanding accessory and costume collections showcase the most coveted designer pieces of the late 20th century, as well as memorable pieces centuries past. These free attractions are a must-see for all New Yorkers, especially trendy college students!

Remembering 9/11: With the 11th anniversary of 9/11 approaching, many people find themselves thinking back to this devastating event. If you're feeling reflective, visit the 9/11 Exhibit at the Trinity Museum. St. Paul's, part of the parish of Trinity Wall Street, became a place for Ground Zero recovery workers to eat, sleep, and try to understand what happened on September 11, 2001. Here you can find photos and artifacts collected during the Ground Zero recovery efforts.

Whether you want your weekend to be fun and fashionable, or reflective and relaxing, these free attractions are perfect for CCNY students looking to add some culture to their weekend.
